Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle'
Probably the finest arborescens cultivar known up to now. It is breathtaking because of its enormous flowers, which are always held well erect by strong, sometimes reddish branches. The size of the inflorescences can be easily controlled by means of a suitable pruning (the rule is simple: the less you prune, the smaller the flowers will be). It is a vigorous shrub (the distance between the nodes can reach 20 centimetres or more), loosely growing, and requires adequate space to show up in all its splendour.
