Hydrangea Arborescens 'Grandiflora'

| Hydrangea Arborescens 'Grandiflora' This hydrangea has been criticised because its slender stems tend to bow down towards the ground under the weight of the inflorescences, which are so plentiful as to form white clouds that often even hide the leaves. This may occur and may be evident in small plants. In broad, well-developed shrubs, however, the central inflorescences remain erect, while the outer ones tend to spread out horizontally, more than to bow down. The result is a well-rounded shrub, vivid and unusual, with a complete flowering that slopes down from the centre of the plant to the ground: a strong point rather than a defect! Besides the multitude of flowers and the long flowering time, it has the advantage of being very resistant, both to frost and to dry spells. A splendid plant. | |
