Hydrangea involucrata 'Yohraku tama'
This elegant deciduous shrub comes from Japan. Its inflorescences are approximately spherical. The brightly coloured leaves set off the white corymbs that rise above the vegetation on their long, sturdy floral stems. During the winter, when the plant is leafless, the trunk and branches show their thin bark, which is white on the older wood and reddish on the younger branches, and peels into very thin layers. The plant is resistant to cold and grows best in a shady spot.
