Hydrangea serrata 'Blue deckle'
Developed by Michael Haworth Booth "with the aim of producing a dwarf rival to H. macrophylla 'Générale Vicomtesse de Vibrayè' " at the end of 1960. Hemispherical lace-cap with sterile flowers that will appear also amongst the fertile central flower cushion. Prolific flowering starting in June-July until September-October, this shrub will produce flowers both on the main and side branches; the sterile flowers with pointed, serrated edges are bright blue and will turn sea green with lilac/purple reverse in the autumn. In neutral soil the colour will be luminous pink. The colour of the leaves will turn red and bark violet in the autumn. Up to 1,5 meters. Sun or partly shaded.
