Hydrangea serrata 'Preziosa'
A much-appreciated hydrangea, rounded and compact. Though it is a serrata, its inflorescences are globose and have a diameter of 11 to 15 centimetres; in acid soil the corymbs are light blue/mauve/violet. During the autumn, the leaves take on vermilion or burgundy tones. A shady site will give rise to pale hues and delicate colours, whereas a sunny one will emphasise the colouring. Some authors believe that this hydrangea is a hybrid of H. serrata and H. macrophylla.
