Hydrangea aspera 'Longipes' Wonderful shrub, medium sized, open and slack. The leaves are elongated, slightly hairy and dentate, with very long pedicles ( from this the name ‘longipes’). Its inflorescence is a rather irregular lacecap, with external white sterile flowers ( 4 cm.) and central violet fertile flowers. Original of Western China, as all the other cultivars of H.aspera, it was introduced in Europe in 1901. | |
