Hydrangea macrophylla 'Merveille Sanguine'
A very unusual shrub. Its sterile flowers are cream-coloured with vermilion edges at the beginning, then become entirely and intensely red. The sepals have an entire margin and are velvety; the foliage is quite dark. This hydrangea is synonymous with 'Brunette' and very similar to 'Foliis Purpurea'; it can be reproduced by cuttings.
