Hydrangea serrata 'Oamacha'
This plant is traditionally well-known in Japan. It is prized both because of its beauty and because of the sweet taste of its leaves, which are used for several purposes: the most popular is a delicious infusion.
The pleasant green hue of the foliage is dotted with elegant little brownish red spots. The inflorescence is a lacecap, very regular, almost geometric. The fertile flowers are abundant and pinky white; the sterile ones have rounded sepals in a deeper shade of pink that becomes lighter on the outside. This hydrangea cannot absolutely be absent, even in a small collection!
